Thank you for visiting us online. You may already be aware of our wireless broadband system operating as ‘AirNexus’ in the rural Tynedale area, but now we are pleased to announce plans for our fibre service ‘Advanced Fibre’.
Background
I have been committed to delivering superfast broadband in rural Tynedale since 2014 when, after returning home from studying telecoms, I decided to put my knowledge to work and begin bridging the digital divide in our region. Although wireless technology has served its purpose very well in the interim, this year’s lockdown restrictions have accelerated the ever-increasing demand for faster Internet and extra capacity due to home working. Despite our best efforts to increase throughput as much as possible, it has become clear that only a full-fibre network of our own will provide us with hyperfast connectivity suitable for the decades to come. To that end, local businessman Andrew Lapping from Hindley and I, have formed a partnership to take this forward. Now that we comply with all of the regulatory requirements, we can proceed to the next stage.
Voucher Scheme
We’d be delighted if you would consider joining forces with us in order to install the latest cutting-edge technology into our communities. There will be no cost to the customer for the installation of this service thanks to the Gigabit Voucher Scheme operated by central Government. We anticipate that the voucher scheme, along with support from the Digital Borderlands top-up funding programme, will cover the cost of installation. We are presently planning a pilot service with our first installations and connections by Summer 2021.
